Job description: 

-Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems, policies, procedures, and standards tailored to heavy industry environments.

-Ensure full compliance with all relevant local, national, and international HSE regulations, legislation, and permits.

-Design and deliver specialized HSE training programs for employees and contractors, focusing on high-risk environments, safe work practices, and emergency response.

-Lead and manage a team of HSE engineers and technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and ensuring effective program implementation.

-Plan and conduct regular HSE audits and inspections across all work areas and equipment to ensure compliance and identify non-conformities.

-Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses using root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.

-Develop and implement emergency preparedness and response plans for potential incidents such as fires, explosions, chemical spills, and equipment failures.

Qualifications: 

1-Education: bachelor's or master's degree in engineering / science only.

2-Experience: Minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressive and demonstrable experience in HSE management within a heavy industrial sector (e.g., mining, oil & gas, metals processing, power generation, heavy manufacturing, home appliances).

3-Experience in managing significant HSE risks is essential.

4-Certifications: Advanced professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP associated safety professional, NEBOSH diploma preferred.

5-NEBOSH IGC – NIOSH – OSHA general industry – Risk management.

Skills:

-Expert knowledge of local, national, and international HSE legislation, regulations, and best practices relevant to heavy industry.

-Advanced understanding of risk management methodologies, including

 HAZID, HAZOP, and fault tree analysis, applied to high-hazard environments.

-Proficiency in HSE management software and data analysis tools.

-Extensive knowledge of emergency response planning and execution for
